Overview

The report presents the company's 2008 sustainability work through community investment, including KSh 27 million to Kenya Red Cross relief efforts and more than KSh 100 million invested in rural school projects over five years. It highlights the Step Ahead programme, which raised KSh 15 million to build and equip eight science laboratories, and a KSh 107 million UNICEF commitment whose first rehabilitation centre opened in November 2008. The report also records an initial environmental-practices review covering energy and greenhouse gas management, water, paper and waste.
