Our story

Born from academic research

Founded in 2023 at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, SustainabilityReports.com began as a research tool to help academics access the growing body of corporate sustainability disclosures.

What started as a simple database has grown into the world’s most comprehensive open-access platform, serving researchers, investors, policymakers, and the public across 125+ countries.

We believe that transparency leads to accountability. Corporate sustainability reports remain scattered across thousands of company websites and investor portals, so we bring them together in one place, leveraging AI to classify and categorize every report. By organizing these disclosures into a single, searchable collection, we help drive meaningful progress in corporate environmental and social responsibility.

We stay true to our academic roots, regularly publishing independent research on sustainability reporting and corporate disclosure.

Where we’re heading

From research to impact

In June 2026, our founder Dr. Kees Krul presented at the United Nations Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Forum in New York, where SustainabilityReports.com was selected from more than 900 applicants as one of ten featured innovators.

Our message at UN Headquarters: access to sustainability data remains unequal. While institutions in well-resourced settings can rely on proprietary datasets, many researchers, NGOs, and policymakers elsewhere are still excluded from high-quality sustainability data.

That is why we remain committed to lowering these barriers. We are especially encouraged to see our platform used by students around the world, including many from the Global South. In the coming years, we will start releasing new datasets alongside what is already the largest online platform for sustainability reports, with the aim of further democratizing access to sustainability data. To support the next generation of researchers directly, we also run a student scholarship that offers download credits for sustainability research.
