The report highlights ALDI's removal of plastic shopping bags from all U.S. stores, with more than 75% of ALDI-exclusive packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable. It reports 100% green electricity coverage for energy consumption and more than 600 stores using near-zero-global-warming-potential refrigerants. Waste efforts included diverting 76% of operational waste companywide, recycling, reusing or donating over 385,000 tons of material, and composting 1,645 tons of food.
