Overview

The report presents George's 2011 ethical-sourcing progress, covering responsibility for workers across more than 720 factories in 23 countries and partnerships with NGOs and charities. It highlights a Bangladesh Lean manufacturing pilot that delivered a 14.2 per cent increase in workers' wages and a 17 per cent improvement in efficiency, alongside reductions in wasted time, labour turnover and absenteeism. It also reports approximately 500 unannounced ethical audits each year across 721 factories and commits to requiring major suppliers to share open labour costings from 2013.
