Environmental Sustainability Report

Overview

The report presents ANU's 2024 environmental sustainability program across operations, teaching, research and engagement. It reports the first expanded Scope 3 inventory, including 196,377 tCO2e within a 215,984 tCO2e total, and highlights 94% renewable electricity across campuses. ANU reaffirmed an ambition to reach below-zero GHG emissions by 2040, based on an approximately 90% absolute reduction from 2019. It also introduced climate risk management and participated in the Commonwealth climate disclosure pilot.
