Overview

The report presents Axfood's 2018 sustainability performance under the GRI Standards 2016 Core level, covering Group-owned retail and wholesale operations. It reports a 78% carbon-footprint reduction since 2009, while 2018 gross energy consumption was 1,338,448 MWh and total GHG emissions were 22,195 CO2 equivalents, tonnes following the shift away from palm-oil-linked HVO. The Group had 12,269 employees at year-end and continued targets for climate neutrality, renewable or recycled packaging, food-waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing.
