Overview

The report integrates Barclays' ESG reporting into its 2021 Annual Report and describes a Board-set ambition to become a net zero bank by 2050. Operationally, Scope 1 and 2 emissions fell 86% against a 2018 baseline, renewable electricity reached 94%, and £69.2bn of social, environmental and sustainability-linked financing was facilitated. The global workforce was 88,565 at 31 December 2021, with women representing 33% of the Board.
