Overview

The report presents BART's 2022 sustainability performance across environmental, community, and resilience topics. It reports 18.28 Megajoules (MJ) / vehicle revenue mile (VRM) for total energy use and 0.07 Metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MT CO2e) / thousand VRM for total GHG emissions, both against 2025 targets. Highlights include estimated savings of about 7.8 million kWh each year from LED retrofits and documented action on climate resiliency through the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and Bay Adapt Joint Platform.
