Overview

The report describes BHP Billiton's FY2016 sustainability performance, including its response to the Samarco dam failure, total GHG emissions of 18.0 million tonnes CO2-e, total water input of 282,800 megalitres and US$178.7 million in voluntary social investment. KPMG provided independent assurance over the report and specified emissions and social-investment matters.
