Overview

The report describes BlueScope's FY2017 sustainability priorities through a stakeholder-led materiality assessment covering climate change and energy, safety, diversity, governance and supply chain sustainability. It reports initial alignment with the TCFD recommendations and FY2017 Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions of 8,627 and 2,101 ktCO2-e per annum, respectively. The report also highlights a 43% reduction in Australian CO2 emissions since FY2011, a strong safety record, and progress in women's representation, including 25.0% of the Board at 30 June 2017 and 33% after a September 2017 appointment.
