Overview

The report summarizes BT's 2004 social and environmental performance through 11 non-financial KPIs and strategic targets. It highlights global warming CO2 emissions of 0.93 million tonnes CO2 in 2004, down from 1.61 million tonnes in 1996, and 107,303 tonnes of waste, of which 27,626 tonnes was recycled. It also reports approximately 99,900 employees worldwide and BT's ranking as the top telecommunications company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes for the third consecutive year.
