Sustainability Report

Overview

The report presents CN's 2018 sustainability performance across environmental, social and governance topics. It reports 5,965,175 Metric tonnes of CO 2e of combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions, 22,149,870 Megawatt hours of energy consumption, 340,291 Metric tonnes of waste generated and 25,720 full-time employees at year-end. CN reports 38% women on its Board of Directors and a 29% intensity-reduction target by 2030 against 2015 levels. Environmental GHG data for Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 fuel production were verified by PricewaterhouseCoopers to a limited level of assurance.
