Overview

The report presents Casella's first Sustainability Report for calendar year 2009. It highlights a 43% reduction in overall greenhouse gas emissions from 2005 to 2009, to 1,110,143 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents, alongside a 34% recycling/diversion rate and 91,653 Megawatt-hours produced from landfill gas to energy. The report also records no work-related fatalities during 2009 and sets targets for further emissions reduction and resource diversion.
