Overview

The report presents Caterpillar's focus on supplying energy solutions and improving the efficiency of its products and operations. For 2011, it reports 2.75 million metric tons of absolute GHG emissions and 14.8 percent renewable energy. It also reports 90 percent recycled waste, 5.16 billion gallons of water use, and 33 buildings or projects designed to LEED or comparable criteria. Previously reported operational data was restated for acquisitions, improved data accuracy and divestitures.
