Overview

The report presents Cenovus's 2016 corporate responsibility performance across emissions, energy, water, waste, safety, workforce, governance and community investment. Company-wide direct GHG emissions were 6,539,702 tonnes CO2E and energy use was 113,079,440 GJ. The report records 2,781 employees within a total workforce of 3,528 employees and contractors, and reports zero fatalities. It also describes a 33 percent upstream GHG emissions-intensity reduction target by 2026 and extensive Aboriginal, community and environmental programs.
