Environmental Report

Overview

The report covers CityUHK's environmental performance from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024. It reports 395,100 m3 of campus water consumption, 75.6 million kWh of electricity use, and 148.6 tonnes of solid waste diverted from landfills, alongside an 8% per-floor-area GHG reduction target by 2030 against 2018/19. The university expanded food-waste collection to four campus points, launched reusable meal-container lending, and continued greening and recycling initiatives. It also highlights a solar-panel project expected to generate 1.15GWh annually and reduce emissions by 450 tonnes.
