Corporate Social Responsibility Report

Overview

The report covers CRH's 2010 activities across 100% of Group subsidiaries and describes CSR across governance, environment, health and safety, and social performance. It reports 9.8m tonnes of direct Scope 1 CO2 emissions, 20.2TWh of Group energy use, and a 15% specific cement-emissions reduction commitment by 2015. Safety performance included six fatalities in subsidiaries, while the Group employed approximately 75,000 people and delivered almost 21.5 average training hours per employee. The report was independently verified in its entirety by DNV to GRI A+ level.
