Overview

The report describes Danone's 2008 sustainability strategy across environmental, social and product-responsibility topics. It reports an estimated group carbon footprint of 16 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent covering Scopes 1, 2 and 3, alongside environmental-efficiency initiatives and a 30% direct CO2 reduction target by 2011. The company reports 80,143 employees at year-end, with women representing 27% of the workforce and no women on the Board. KPMG Audit reviewed selected environmental and social indicators and the Danone Way Fundamentals initiative under a moderate level of assurance.
