Environmental Progress Report

Overview

The report presents Dell's first-ever environmental report, organized around environmental policy, product design, low-impact production, packaging, recycling, and corporate citizenship. It highlights energy-efficient, modular, and recyclable products and describes facility waste-reduction programs. At Metric 12, Dell reports recycling 3666 tons of material in the first nine months and diverting more than 95% of solid waste from landfills by November 1997. It also describes Green Away and Asset Recovery Services as customer take-back and reuse programs.
