Overview

The report highlights a 64% reduction in the Council's carbon emissions from the 2008/09 baseline, with 29,173 tonnes recorded in 2023/24. It reports 38,387,838 kWh of electricity use, 65,823,178 kWh of gas use and estimated water use of 444,555 cubic metres. The Council retained Green-level Investors in the Environment accreditation, achieved an 80% score and received iiE's national Best Carbon Reduction Award. It is working towards net zero for Council emissions by 2030 and countywide emissions by 2045.
