Overview

The report presents FirstRand's sustainability activities for the period 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2004. It reports a total workforce of 35 837 employees across South Africa, Africa and other countries. Community investment was a major focus, with grants during the year totalling R52 million. Operational initiatives included a 35% reduction in BankCity electricity consumption and the elimination of WesBank's paper-based “Pink file” process.
