Sustainability Report

Overview

The report presents HEI's fifth consolidated Sustainability Report, prepared in accordance with SASB and EEI guidance, with consolidated enterprise-wide GHG inventories and subsidiary-level detail. It reports 2023 gross enterprise-wide emissions of 4,418,816 MT CO2e in Scope 1, 4,086 MT CO2e in Scope 2 and 2,231,650 MT CO2e in Scope 3, while noting prior-year totals were revised for methodology adjustments. Hawaiian Electric's renewable portfolio standard reached 33.3%, and the report describes wildfire resilience investments alongside a 70% power-generation reduction goal and net-zero carbon commitment by 2045.
