Overview

The report describes Highwoods Properties' 2019 progress across its managed real-estate portfolio, including 3.5% lower energy use, 2.4% lower water use and 3.6% lower GHG emissions. It reports 68 ENERGY STAR certifications and progress toward 2026 goals of 20% reductions in energy intensity and carbon emissions and 10% in water use from 2016. Social highlights include more than 1,000 employee community-service hours supporting over 75 organizations, while the Sustainability Team expanded and a GRI content index was provided.
