Overview

The report describes Holmen's group-wide environmental performance in 1999, covering resources, energy, emissions, waste and environmental activities across its operations. It reports total thermal energy consumption of 20,001 TJ and electric energy consumption of 3,937 GWh, alongside 1,699,100 tonnes of total air emissions and 165,000 tonnes of deposited wet waste. During the year, Holmen Skog, Braviken, Wargön and Iggesund Sawmill obtained ISO 14001 certification, while Holmen's forestry held FSC certifications.
