Overview

The report describes Holmen's 2013 sustainability work across renewable forestry, energy transition and employee safety. The Group commissioned a biofuel boiler at Workington, helping make the mill fossil-free and self-sufficient in electricity, while group fossil-fuel use fell 52% from the 2005 baseline. Holmen also reported a 36% share of company-generated renewable electricity relative to electricity needs and an industrial-accident rate of 8.4 per million hours worked.
