Overview

The report presents Kroger's 2019 ESG performance across its retail, manufacturing, distribution and supply-chain operations. It reports 5,749,758 tCO2e of location-based Scope 1 and 2 emissions, 2,175,346 tCO2e of Scope 3 emissions, and an 80% waste-diversion rate. Kroger also set a company-wide goal to reduce absolute operational GHG emissions by 30% by 2030 from a 2018 baseline. The report covers 431,312 associates and describes progress on food access, safety, responsible sourcing and sustainable packaging.
