Overview

The report sets out Kyushu Electric Power's first Long-term Management Vision since 1985 and a three-year management policy for fiscal 2009-2011. It reports a target to reduce CO2 emissions per unit of electricity sold by about 20% from the fiscal 1990 level on average over fiscal 2008-2012, while noting that the outlook at the end of fiscal 2008 was about a 14% reduction. The company also aims to install 1,000,000 kW each of wind and solar power facilities by fiscal 2017 and describes ongoing development of renewable energy and energy-efficiency initiatives.
