Overview

The report highlights LNER's Responsible Business strategy, organized around Love the Journey and its Places, People and Business with Heart pillars. For the 2019/20 franchise year, it reports total carbon emissions of 182,280 tCO2e, a 25.7 per cent decrease from the 2015/16 baseline, and total energy consumption of 578,167 MWh. LNER set a net-zero carbon goal for 2045, reports 21.4% waste recycling and 67,572 cubic metres of water consumption, and describes extensive community, mental-health and inclusion initiatives.
