Corporate Responsibility Report

Overview

The report introduces Metro's first comprehensive Corporate Responsibility disclosure for activities in Quebec and Ontario during the 2010 and 2011 fiscal years. It presents a GRI G3.1 Application Level C index and transparently states that no third-party assurance was obtained. Environmental highlights include 70,744 metric tonnes of recyclables diverted from landfill in 2010, while the report also sets a 10% overall energy-reduction objective by 2016 and describes a workforce of more than 65,000 people.
