Overview

The report presents Nestlé's 2016 sustainability performance across nutrition, rural development, water, environmental sustainability, human rights and its people. Highlights include 328 221 employees, CHF 89 469 million of Group sales, 3.6 million tonnes of direct GHG emissions, 17% renewable factory energy use and 182 sites achieving zero waste for disposal. Nestlé also describes formal materiality analysis, board-level CSV oversight and reporting under GRI G4, the GHG Protocol, UNGC and the UN Guiding Principles Reporting Framework. Bureau Veritas provides independent assurance over selected 2016 information.
