Overview

The report describes FY2003 implementation of the Olympus Group's 02 Basic Environmental Plan, prioritizing eco-products, zero emissions, and group-standardized environmental management. Group CO2 emissions including Shenzhen reached 64,622 tons, while recycled resources reached 2,641 tons and the recycled resource ratio was 76%. It reports ISO 14001 certification at 10 of 12 branches in Japan and three of four overseas development and manufacturing bases, covering about 58% of Olympus Group employees. The report also details soil and groundwater investigations at 15 sites and corrective planning for the Okaya site.
