Overview

The report presents Orica's 2012 sustainability performance across safety, environmental management, product stewardship, people, community and economic contributions. It records one workplace fatality, a 0.47 all-worker recordable case rate and a 55% reduction in fatigue-related incidents. Direct Scope 1 emissions were 1,801,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, while indirect Scope 2 emissions were 520,000 tCO2e. Energy use was 18.9 million gigajoules, and the report also discloses 8.8 million kilolitres of gross water consumption and 16,500 tonnes of waste.
