Sustainability 2030 Annual Report

Overview

The report describes Pierce County's progress at the midpoint of its Sustainability 2030 Plan: 24 actions were completed by September 2025, with 34 in progress and 5 not yet started. Highlights include 59 energy-efficient heat pumps installed in low-income homes, 18 fleet and workplace EV chargers, and 7,036 acres conserved through Conservation Futures. Municipal fleet emissions were down 21.44% from the 2015 baseline at the end of 2024, while renewable diesel use is expected to reduce 2025 operational emissions by more than 1,000 metric tons. The report also sets out 2026-2027 priorities for energy affordability, climate resilience, conservation, transportation, and community capacity.
