Sustainable Development Report

Overview

The report shows Sasol's 2009 sustainability performance across safety, climate, water, energy, waste and workforce management. Global GHG emissions decreased to 71,3 million tons, while the report recorded four employee and service provider fatalities. Consolidated data tables report 359 828 thousand gigajoules of energy use, 152 318 1 000 m3 of water use and 808 kilotons of generated hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Selected sustainability data was independently assured by PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc.
