Sustainable Development Report

Overview

The report covers Sasol's global sustainable development performance for the 2011 financial year, with group-wide information on safety, climate, water, waste and workforce management. It reports 15 employee and service provider fatalities, 75 317 kt of Scope 1-3 GHG emissions, 152 526 m3 of total water use and 493 kt of total waste. Sasol also reports a 15% GHG emissions-intensity reduction target by 2020 from a 2005 baseline, alongside water-conservation partnerships and workforce-development initiatives. The report reproduces PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc.'s independent assurance statement over selected sustainability indicators.
