Overview

The report presents SMIC's CSR approach through three pillars: building trust, caring for people, and protecting the environment. It reports 9,974 employees at the end of 2012 and describes extensive employee, community, and workplace programs. Environmental highlights include ISO 14001 and ISO 14064-related certifications, energy and water conservation initiatives, and a reduction of PFC emissions by 44,473 tons of CO2 per year.
