Overview

The report describes Shimano's 2013 social activities across product enjoyment, human-resource development, environmental stewardship and community engagement. It marks the tenth anniversary of the Shimano Green Plan and highlights an eco-conscious factory renovation, including rainwater reuse. At Shimano headquarters, CO2 emissions from private-car commuting were reduced by 35,050 kg, about five times the target. The three-year STRIVE bicycle-safety and maintenance program in Singapore concluded successfully, while cycling, education and relief activities continued globally.
