Overview

The report presents FY2021 sustainability performance for the Shin-Etsu Group, including 24,954 consolidated employees, 3,106 Million l of energy consumption, and 6,081 Thousand tons of CO2e in Scope 1 plus Scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 emissions were 10,315 thousand tons of CO2, with categories 1, 3, 4, and 12 revised retroactively. The Group reports greenhouse-gas production intensity at 52.9% of FY1990 levels and targets 45% by FY2025, while working toward carbon neutrality by 2050. It also details TCFD scenario analysis, safety programs, human-rights due diligence, CSR procurement, water conservation, waste reduction, resource recycling, and products aligned with SDGs.
