Overview

The report describes Sims' FY16 global sustainability performance, including 1,867,036 GJ of total energy use, 187,634 tonnes of Group CO2 emissions, 1,040,826 tonnes of waste and 549 Mega Litres of group water consumption. It reports 4,756 employees and improved safety performance, including 84% of facilities with zero recordable injuries. The company had achieved its earlier 15% Scope 1 and 2 carbon reduction target and set Board-approved 2020 goals including reductions in fuel, electricity, water and waste and increased renewable energy.
