Overview

The report integrates financial, environmental, social and governance performance for the year ended 30 September 2012 across SPAR and its Southern African subsidiaries. It reports group revenue of R43 560.2 million, 3,904 year-end employees, 28,585 training days and R11.4 million in CSI investment. Environmental disclosures include a 2011 carbon footprint of 121 357 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, 75 925 352 kilowatt hours of energy in 2011, 173 628 m3 of water withdrawal and 7 046 tonnes of recycled cardboard and plastic; sustainability information was not independently assured.
