Overview

The report describes The Star’s 2009 corporate responsibility work across the marketplace, workplace, environment, and community. It reports no fewer than 141 employee training events and about RM1.1 million invested in talent development, while workplace incidents declined 41% compared with 2008. Environmental initiatives included monitoring energy and water use and recycling unsold newspapers and newsprint waste. Community activities included Go Green, Live Green events and education and relief programmes.
