Overview

The report reviews STMicroelectronics' 1999 environmental performance across its global manufacturing network, including more than 35,000 employees and 17 primary manufacturing sites. It reports 1300GWh of energy use and a reduction in water intensity to 6,800 m3 per million dollars of standard production value. Key forward commitments include zero CO2 equivalent emissions by 2010, a factor-of-10 reduction in energy-related CO2 emissions by 2010, and greater renewable-energy use.
