Overview

The report describes Stora Enso's 2008 sustainability performance across climate, environmental and social topics. The company reported an estimated carbon footprint of 8.58 million tonnes of CO2, down 13% from 2007, and set a Group-wide 20% fossil CO2 intensity reduction target for 2020 against 2006. Health and safety remained a major challenge, with five fatal accidents in operations and two involving contractors. The report also highlights the October 2008 launch of the Code of Conduct and includes independent assurance by Csrnetwork.
