Overview

The report presents SCIL's 2022-23 sustainability initiatives across renewable energy, resource conservation, people and community programmes. Renewables constituted around 50% of total energy consumption, while biofuel substitution reduced CO2 emissions by 4000 MT. The company collected and recycled 2195 MT of plastic and reported 1,642 permanent employees as of 31 March 2023. Its BRSR also reports 26,045 metric tonnes Scope 1 and 14,831 metric tonnes Scope 2 emissions, total energy consumption of 475,061 GJ, and total waste generated of 13,148 metric tonnes.
