Overview

The report presents Teck's 2016 sustainability performance across its operated mines and related projects, with 9,799 employees and revenue of $9.3 billion. It reports zero work-related fatalities, 15% women in the workforce and 14% women on the Board. Direct and indirect GHG emissions totaled 2,925 kt CO2e, while Scope 3 emissions from use of steelmaking coal were approximately 79,053 kt CO2e. The report also highlights 42,538 TJ of energy consumption, 150% water reuse/recycling, and a 2030 target to reduce emissions by 450,000 tonnes.
