Overview

The report describes TransAlta's 2020 ESG progress, including a reduction of annual emissions by over 25 million tonnes of CO2e since 2005 and approximately 2,500 MW of renewable capacity. It also establishes a company-wide carbon-neutrality target for 2050. The workforce section reports 1,476 active employees and 45% women on the Board. Sustainability performance indicators covering emissions, water, waste, land use, safety and environmental incidents were independently subjected to limited assurance by Ernst & Young LLP.
