Overview

The report presents Umicore's 2007 transformation into a global materials technology group alongside progress in environmental and social objectives. It reports 7,637 terajoules of energy consumption, 62,225 tonnes of waste generated and reduced water consumption of 4,963,000 m3. The year nevertheless included two fatal accidents at Umicore's operations, prompting strengthened safety targets for 2008-2010. Environmental, health, safety and social information was independently assured by ERM CVS, with reporting aligned to GRI G3 application level C+.
