Overview

The report describes U. S. Steel's 2022 efforts to expand lower-carbon steel products, including verdeX® steel with up to 90% recycled content and 70-80% lower CO2 emissions than traditional integrated-mill steel. It reports operating all facilities without a fatality and reducing absolute Scope 1 and market-based Scope 2 emissions by about 2.9 million metric tonnes compared with 2021.
