Annual Sustainability Report

Overview

The report describes Utrecht University's 2025 operational carbon emissions falling to 22,734 tonnes for Scopes 1 and 2. It presents the first biodiversity footprint, 2,244 PDF.ha.year, as a 2024 baseline for future reductions. Commercial waste fell by 6.4% from 2022 to 2025, although the report says current progress remains insufficient for its long-term circularity objectives.
