Overview

The report describes the Office of Sustainability's first year after opening in January 2023, covering governance, sustainability-focused education, operations and community engagement. It reports more than 450 sustainability-related courses across 37 departments and eight colleges, and highlights ReusePass avoidance of 27,081 single-use containers, 17,947 lbs of greenhouse-gas emissions and 17,224 gallons of water. Operational work included beginning Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data collection, pursuing a 180kW solar installation, and reporting substantial recycling and compost diversion. The Office also supported student research, awards, training and community partnerships.
